I’m not sure if the comic is dead or not, but at this point, I honestly can’t update the pages until I can figure out why they’re not showing up and set time aside to deal with all the wordpress/comicpress updates. I’ve actually had a new layout sitting around for months now, but no idea how to implement it or put it into wordpress. I’m sorry about this guys. If you haven’t abandoned the site yet, for some reason, thanks for being troopers. Even if I decide to do no more new pages, I will try and get the archives back up for viewing and put together a summary at some point.

So I’m not dead. But life took a not-so-unexpected turn for the worst, then I had to move, and that is why I made you wait four months for one page. The other reasoning is that I just plain suck! Feel free to use whatever explanation you prefer. I’m actually in the mood to do pages though, so hopefully something will come of that. Never count on me though! I’m horrible!

Tried to switch off of comicpress to inkblot/webcomic, but I think I screwed up and so I’m stuck with comicpress for the time being. The pages should work fine now! Let me know if you come across any inconsistencies in the archives. (The archive page is actually down right now, but if you notice a page missing here or there, or pages out of order, please tell me!)

Rah, so clearly there’s no page today. I’m hoping to have some up in June some time. I want to wrap up this chapter by the end of June (and there are only about 5 more page in it). However, there is some big news regarding the comic.

Updates are going to be put on the bottom of my priorities from now on. This means updates monthly, or every other month. This decision was not an easy one, but it is either this or quit the comic entirely. Since I am still unable to leave the characters behind and leave their stories unfinished, I chose this option. I made this decision some time this week after reading a bad review (of another comic) and realizing A LOT of criticisms for that webcomic, are problems I see in my own work. I’ve been continuing with No Crap! for some time, and trying like hell to fix all the mistakes I made, but instead of doing that, I’m only really adding on tangents and more things that will need fixing later on. The only way to truly fix this story would be to restart it, and I just don’t have it in me to do that. This comic always started as an experiment, but I’ve already put four (nearly five) years into it, trying to make it more than that, and I don’t see the end in sight. Honestly, I’m almost 25, and I don’t want to be 30 before I can start my first “real” comic.

I feel kind of silly stopping now when I just tried so hard recently to regain readership, but I think in the end, this is the right decision to make. My readers (you guys) have been absolutely wonderful to me from the start and I just wanted to express my unending gratitude for it. It was due to you that I knew I was capable of improvement and storytelling, and your encouragement that kept me going up until this point. I can only hope some of you will follow me unto my next project (which is going to be written out beforehand, so none of the mistakes that happened with NC! will repeat themselves).

Just to reiterate: I am not quitting No Crap! permanently. I am merely going to start updating when I feel like and not keep myself to any schedule, so I can focus on new work. If it comes to the point that I’m unable to continue drawing pages, there will be completion on some level, even if it is in the form of summarized chapters in prose form. If you don’t want to have to keep coming to the page to keep checking for updates since they’re going to be sporadic from now on, there are a few different ways to do this.
